Michaels' (joint) Talk Title: AI in broiler meat inspection: are we ready?
Michael Majewski is a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), working at the National Food Institute on food safety, epidemiology, and the control of foodborne pathogens. He is also an assistant professor at the Poznań University of Life Sciences and a third-year resident at the European College of Veterinary Public Health in the Food Safety sub-discipline. His esearch focuses on developing risk-based and harmonized approaches to broiler meat inspection, with a particular emphasis on improving food safety systems in poultry production. His current work contributes to advancing methodologies for post-mortem inspection of broilers, with a strong emphasis on standardization, data integration, and the development of camera vision systems for broiler post-mortem inspection.
Michaels' broader goal is to support the transition toward more efficient, risk-based regulatory frameworks that enhance both consumer protection and animal health and welfare. Through his work, he aims to contribute to the development of safer and more sustainable food systems by combining research, collaboration, and innovation to address global public health challenges.
