Matthias' Talk Titel: Data harmonization and knowledge graphs: their relevance in the age of AI.

Matthias Filter is the Head of the Innovation Centre Food Chain Modelling and Artificial Intelligence at the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR). Holding a diploma in Biochemistry, he has been working at the BfR since 2008 as a research scientist and team leader in predictive microbiology, Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment (QMRA), and software development. His recent research focus has extended to AI-based solutions that facilitate the generation and use of Linked Data and the efficient exchange of risk assessment models. He has initiated and coordinated several national and international research projects, amongst others the RAKIP Initiative, which is a joint effort of risk assessment agencies and universities to promote the provisioning of risk assessment models and related data as interoperable resources.

Matthias has led several national and international research projects in which his team led the development of innovative software solutions to support interdisciplinary knowledge and information integration. Current projects focus on the implementation of AI-based solutions for information extraction and information management, contributing significantly to the digital transformation of risk assessment practices.
