Kangweis' (joint) Talk Title: AI-based biosecurity measurements for conservation of endangered species
Kangwei Hou is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at LMU Munich, working within the Chair of Fish Diseases and Fisheries Biology (Project LIFE-PINNACARE). In his current research, he applies veterinary epidemiology methodologies to design biosecurity and disease-surveillance frameworks for aquatic ecosystems and conservation. Specifically, Kangwei leverages his expertise in qualitative risk assessment during his PhD study in Melbourne to translate subjective field observations and stakeholder compliance behaviors into structured parameters for analytical modeling. By bridging qualitative veterinary risk analysis with quantitative frameworks, he establishes the essential domain logic required to develop and implement AI-based biosecurity measurements in wildlife conservation.
