He graduated in 2021 in Poland and then worked as a research assistant at Poznan University of Life Sciences, Poland, and part-time as an official veterinarian. In 2022, Kacper moved to Utrecht, the Netherlands, to start a PhD focused on applying computer vision (a type of AI) to food safety and the automated monitoring of animal welfare and health. One year later, he began his Residency at the European College of Veterinary Public Health (food safety subspecialty) and is now in the 3rd year of the curriculum. At the College, he also serves as Chair of the Residents Committee.

During his PhD, Kacper spent 2.5 months at the National Food Institute at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and was also invited as an expert speaker to the European Commission group working on the use of AI for meat inspection. In addition to his strong interest in meat inspection, Kacper is also training AI models to automate the monitoring of animal health and welfare on the farm, ensuring the entire food chain remains in focus. After defending his PhD (scheduled for October 2026), Kacper will continue working at Utrecht University as a postdoc.
