Artificial intelligence is transforming how we understand and manage complex biological systems that affect health across humans, animals, and the environment. We combine microbiology, systems biology, and AI-driven analysis to investigate pathogens and their behavior in food production and biosystems within a One Health framework.
Our research focuses on understanding biological systems that influence food safety, human and animal health, and environmental sustainability. By combining microbiology, systems biology, and artificial intelligence, we investigate how microorganisms interact with their hosts, food production systems, and the wider biosphere within the framework of a One Health approach.
With our interdisciplinary approach, we pursue the goal of generating knowledge that supports evidence-based strategies for the prevention, detection, and control of infectious risks throughout the entire food system and at the interface between humans, animals, and the environment.

We develop and apply a negotiation-centred framework that conceptualises risk management as an iterative, multi-actor process under uncertainty. The approach supports transparent, adaptive, and socially robust risk governance in complex One Health settings.
