Dr. Sven Klußmann completed his veterinary medicine degree in 2013 at Justus Liebig University in Giessen. After receiving his license to practice, he first worked at the Barkhof Equine Clinic in northern Germany and then at the Leimental Veterinary Clinic in Switzerland. During this time, he developed a clinical focus on orthopedics and diagnostic imaging.
In 2017, he moved to Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). There, he completed a residency with the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging and is currently pursuing further training to become a board-certified veterinary specialist in diagnostic imaging. He also earned his Ph.D. at LMU, with a thesis on the anatomy and diagnosis of canine carpal disorders, with a special focus on sonography.
Since August 2021, Dr. Klußmann has been a senior physician in radiology and orthopedics at the LMU Equine Clinic. He heads the Radiology Division and is responsible for its expansion to include digital radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, intraoperative imaging, and ultrasound diagnostics. His practice encompasses diagnostic imaging for horses as well as other large and small animals, companion animals, and birds.
In addition to his clinical work, he is active in teaching, training, and research. He supervises students, interns, and doctoral projects, participates in postgraduate continuing education programs, and supports clinical research and habilitation projects with a focus on imaging.
