Dr. Christiane Otzdorff first completed an apprenticeship as a horse management specialist in breeding and husbandry. After passing her final exam, she studied veterinary medicine at Justus Liebig University in Giessen. Upon completing her studies, she wrote her doctoral dissertation in the field of reproductive biotechnology at the Neustadt Aisch Insemination Association (Besamungsverein Neustadt Aisch e.V.). She received her Ph.D. in 2005 from Freie Universität Berlin.
Since 2005, Dr. Otzdorff has been working in the field of reproductive medicine at LMU Munich. She initially worked at the LMU Small Animal Clinic and, since 2013, has also been working at the LMU Equine Clinic. She completed a three-year residency in the field of reproductive biotechnology and subsequently earned Diplomate status from the European College of Animal Reproduction. In 2012, she passed the examination to become a board-certified veterinarian in animal breeding and biotechnology.
Dr. Otzdorff focuses her work on andrology (small animals, horses, ruminants) and biotechnology. Her primary areas of interest include clinical spermatology, male infertility and subfertility, and the cryopreservation of sperm.
From 2011 to 2017, Dr. Otzdorff served as a member of the Examination Committee of the European College of Animal Reproduction, and from 2017 to 2026, she served as the College’s Secretary.
