Dr. Simon Gras at the ParaFrap Workshop 2026

Simon Gras was delighted to join the second LabEx ParaFrap Next Generation in Parasitology Workshop, held in the Montpellier region from May 18–21, 2026, as an invited guest speaker.

The meeting brought together 16 early-career investigators from across Europe, with nearly 70 participants joining the scientific symposium at the historic Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier. Talks covered a broad range of parasites and research topics, from cell biology and genomics to metabolism and host–parasite interactions. The meeting continued with a retreat in Saint-Martin-de-Londres dedicated to the challenges of establishing and leading a research group, including mentorship, lab management, collaborations, funding and grant writing.

It was a fantastic meeting and a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas, make new connections and discuss both science and academic life in an open and friendly atmosphere.

A huge thank you to Maude Lévêque, Isabelle Louradour, Karine Frénal and Maryse Lebrun for organizing this inspiring meeting, to Bastien Caillau for taking such great care of all the logistics, and to the entire ParaFrap team for the invitation and for making these four days such an enjoyable experience!
