Physical therapy, rehabilitation, and sports medicine for dogs and cats

At the Center for Animal Mobility, we stand for modern, scientifically sound, and individually tailored therapeutic approaches for dogs and cats with orthopedic, neurological, or functional limitations. Our goal is to improve the mobility, quality of life, and well-being of our patients in the long term.

Physical therapy: targeted, gentle, effective

Physical therapy is a central component of veterinary rehabilitation. It supports healing after surgery, alleviates pain, and plays a crucial role in promoting mobility and general well-being. Our treatment plans are based on the latest scientific findings and are tailored to the condition and needs of each individual animal.

Our focus:

  • Pain relief and anti-inflammatory
  • Improvement of movement patterns and coordination
  • Muscle building and improved fitness
  • Restoration of functional mobility after surgery or injury
  • Prevention of secondary diseases
  • Performance enhancement and injury prevention in sporting dogs

Thanks to close cooperation with the orthopedics, neurology, and surgery departments at the LMU Small Animal Clinic, we are able to provide comprehensive care for even complex conditions.

Our range of services—targeted procedures for the best possible care

We combine proven methods with modern technologies to provide optimal therapy for every animal:

  • Passive and active movement therapy
  • Manual therapy and massage
  • Underwater treadmill training
  • laser therapy
  • radiofrequency therapy
  • Electrotherapy (TENS & NMES)
  • Therapeutic ultrasound
  • shock wave therapy
  • Computer-assisted gait analysis

Gait analysis provides us with objective, highly accurate data about your animal's gait. This allows even subtle deviations to be detected at an early stage and treated in a targeted manner – before chronic complaints arise.

Success through teamwork

Cooperation between the veterinarian and pet owners is very important for successful rehabilitation. In addition to physical therapy at the clinic, it is essential to continue exercises at home. Pet owners receive a training plan tailored specifically to their pet for use at home.
