The interdisciplinary working group "Coronavirus in Cats and Kids" (CICK) brings together veterinary and pediatric researchers and clinicians with the shared goal of improving our understanding of coronavirus-associated diseases in cats and children and advancing effective treatment strategies.

On July 9–10, the CICK Symposium was held for the fourth time, and for the second time at the University Animal Hospital Zurich. Researchers from LMU Munich and the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich came together to present the latest findings from their collaborative research on feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) and discuss future joint research projects.
The symposium continued to focus on the treatment of FIP, a viral disease that, until only a few years ago, was considered almost invariably fatal in cats. Thanks to close collaboration and major scientific breakthroughs—including the first prospective clinical trial evaluating oral GS-441524 for the treatment of FIP—lasting therapeutic success has now become a reality.

We are proud to contribute to this promising collaboration and to help advance both feline health and scientific progress in FIP research.
