Doctoral theses
Doctoral theses usually last two years. During this time, the doctoral students, together with the respective senior physicians, exclusively care for study patients as part of their doctoral thesis. Further clinical training as part of the doctoral thesis is only possible with a corresponding contract (emergency service veterinarian or resident).
The progress of each project is presented to the senior physicians in retreats (two per year). At the end of the doctoral thesis, the results are presented by the doctoral students at national or international conferences.

Interested candidates should note that they should already apply for a doctoral thesis during the clinical rotation in the internal medicine block. Employment as a student assistant at the Small Animal Clinic and a good evaluation in the main clinic at the Small Animal Clinic are an advantage for the application. Students applying from outside Munich who have not completed an internship/clinic at the Small Animal Clinic in Munich should apply before the start of the major internship if possible. Applications should include a CV, a photo and all certificates and evaluations from the rotation at the Small Animal Clinic and should be sent to:

Internship for students of veterinary medicine
For students of veterinary medicine we offer the possibility to complete the curative internship according to TappV §57, paragraph 1 or 2. Please be sure to state the following when you register:

  • Surname, first name
  • Address

  • Semester of study

  • Internship from (date)
  • Internship length
  • Short CV and a short letter of motivation.
