The Competence Center for Food Safety is a collaborative initiative uniting two leading academic research groups in the pursuit of safer food systems. Our mission is to advance cutting-edge scientific research that enhances food safety and public health. By integrating expertise in food microbiology, toxicology and analytics, antimicrobial resistance and environmental monitoring, we strive to understand and mitigate risks posed by pathogens, contaminants, and antimicrobial resistance in food production and processing. We leverage AI-assisted risk management concepts to transform the currently used classical and often one-dimensional microbial risk analysis framework and meet the challenges of future food systems.
