Topping-Out Ceremony at the LMU Campus in Oberschleißheim

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) is celebrating the topping-out ceremony for two new buildings at its Oberschleißheim campus: a central teaching and administration building with a cafeteria, and a new library.

The construction project is part of the continued expansion of the Faculty's veterinary medicine campus. The Free State of Bavaria has approved a total investment of approximately €75.5 million for the two buildings. Construction began in November 2024, with the official groundbreaking taking place in February 2025. If work continues as scheduled, the buildings are expected to be completed in May 2027.

The larger of the two buildings will accommodate the Faculty's administration, teaching facilities, and a new cafeteria. Covering almost 9,000 square metres of usable space, it will house offices, seminar rooms, a Skills Lab for hands-on student training, and two lecture halls with a combined capacity of around 500 seats. The cafeteria will be able to serve up to 1,500 meals per day and will provide 346 dining seats, complemented by an additional 98 seats in an adjoining café area.
